- The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 showed up on a Best Buy store floor.
- Samsung hasn’t officially announced the new wearable yet, so this was definitely a mistake.
- We expect the Watch 3 to land this week alongside the Galaxy Note 20 and several other new products.
We fully expect Samsung to launch the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 on August 5, which is only two days away. The company hasn’t formally confirmed the device even exists yet, though, so we can’t say that the launch is a certainty.
However, a tipster supplied Android Authority with some images of stacks of Galaxy Watch 3 retail boxes as seen on the sales floor of a Best Buy. That should remove any doubts about at least one of the devices Samsung will likely be launching on Wednesday.
If you’re curious, yes: the tipster did try to buy one. Unfortunately, the Best Buy staff refused and moved the locked rack off the sales floor. Whoops.
Check out the tipster’s images below.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 at a Best Buy
Ultimately, these retail boxes don’t really tell us much we didn’t already know about the watches. The colorways and design all match up with the most recent leaked renders, and the name of the watch is also well-known at this point.
What is interesting about these retail boxes, though, is the fact that they are already at this Best Buy. Could this mean that Samsung is going to make the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 available very soon after it announces the new wearable? In the case of the Galaxy Note 20 — expected to launch at the same event — it will probably be a few weeks before you’ll be able to walk into a store and buy one. These units being at this Best Buy already, though, suggest you might be able to get the watch a lot sooner than that.
Stay tuned this week, as we will have a ton of coverage related to the Galaxy Watch 3, the Note 20, the Galaxy Tab S7, and the slew of other products we expect Samsung to unveil. If you want to know the latest rumors surrounding the Galaxy Watch 3, check out our hub here.
